Anyone who works in the electronics repair and refurbishment industry will say that having your electronic equipment repaired, is a much lower cost and sustainable alternative to buying new. It’s true, and something that I totally stand by.

This example though for us, is probably the best one that I have ever seen for cost savings compared to buying new.

Whenever vibration data is being collected from an electric motor, you want to fit the sensors as close to the bearing as possible, a placement where there are as few barriers or frame component joins as possible. That way, the important vibration signals don’t attenuate before they get to the sensor.

I love seeing these electric motors in the workshops, they’re a little different to the standard industrial electric motors I got my hands on over 40 years ago when I started off in the industry.
