Salary Negotiable depending on experience (up to £35k)

Holidays 25 days per annum plus statutory holidays

Main function of job

You will be required to work on your own initiative carrying out inspection, evaluation, repair and reclamation work.
Working closely with the Workshop Manager to ensure that all working activities are carried out in a cost effective, efficient manner in accordance with company policies and procedures.

Duties

  • Inspection of machined components
  • Reclamation of worn parts either by back engineering or working from a drawing
  • Turning, milling, drilling and slotting
  • Metal spraying
  • Dynamic balancing
  • Welding
  • Documentation of findings, work required, spare parts, materials and labour
  • Make maximum effective use of equipment ensuring that it is maintained in good working order
  • Employ good housekeeping practices to increase efficiency and avoid accidents
  • Communicating with all members of staff and as and where required suppliers & customers

Essential Qualifications and Experience

  • Qualifications by experience
  • A successful track record within the repair industry
  • Knowledge of lathes, milling and horizontal boring machines
  • Ability to interpret drawings and diagrams

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

  • City & Guilds in Mechanical Engineering
  • Background in diagnosis, fault finding and repair
  • Ability to dynamically balance
  • Ability to metal spray
  • Co-ordinating measuring equipment

Working hours available

Noon Shift
Monday - Friday: 1pm – 9.30pm

Rotating Shift
Monday – Friday: 6am - 2.30pm & 2.30pm – 10pm

Night Shift
Monday – Friday: 10pm - 6am
Sunday – Thursday: 10pm – 6am
Saturday – Wednesday 10pm – 6am
