Reliability Upgrade Program
This is a service that is unique to Fletcher Moorland. The FML Reliability Upgrade Program we offer is far more than just a repair. It guarantees you peace of mind, knowing that your item will keep running reliably for many more years to come.
It’s a full overhaul where components we know from our long experience that have a finite lifespan (such as electrolytic capacitors, power resistors, relays and opto-isolators) will be replaced, whether they are faulty now or not. All of the components , passive or semiconductor, will be inspected and tested. If there is any sign of defects or aging they will be replaced together with any found in similar circuit areas on your electronics repair. On HMI’s and monitors, aged CRT’s or backlight tubes will be replaced.
Electrolytic capacitors of 85 deg C temperature rating will be replaced with those of 105 degree C rating to improve reliability. Resistors including surface mount resistors will be inspected, if there are any signs of them having been overheating they will be replaced. All high value resistors will be checked, if any have changed value (a common problem) or are in circuit areas with a high working voltage, all of that type will be replaced. All of this will extend the life of your repair.
All soldered joints will be carefully inspected and repaired where they are found to be dry, cracked or having been overheated. Power semiconductors will be checked to see if the heat conductive compound or thermal insulators are in good condition, correcting any problems we find. Cooling fans and air filters will be replaced as standard, before they fail. The unit will be thoroughly cleaned of dust and oil to ensure that cooling, hence reliability is optimised. Where we can fully test the item an infra red thermal camera will be used to check for hot spots and overheating components. Terminal connections on power blocks will be checked for tightness and any signs of overheating.. Items that we find have been damaged to vibration will be replaced and will be better secured.
These and many more checks we make will extend the life of your electronics repair, saving you costs on downtime and replacement.
